BYTE Robotics Wins 3rd Place at the 2025 Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics
We are proud to announce that BYTE Robotics, the VEX V5 team from the Center for Future Innovators, earned 3rd place at the 2025 Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics, held on Saturday, April 12 at South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois.
This was BYTE Robotics' first year competing as a team, and their achievement is a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and creativity they’ve shown throughout the season. Competing in the VEX Robotics challenge, they impressed both judges and spectators with their innovative design, strategic driving, and strong collaboration.

The Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics is an annual regional showcase of youth talent in STEM. The event brought together high school students from across the region to compete in five challenges: VEX Robotics, Maze Runner, Pathfinder, Sumo Survivor, and Catapult. In addition to competition, the event offered interactive STEM exhibits, networking opportunities, and hands-on activities aimed at inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.
BYTE Robotics not only excelled in competition but also had the opportunity to be interviewed by press members. They shared how robotics has shaped their learning journey and future goals. Their story stood out as one of growth, teamwork, and the power of project-based learning.
“This is a huge milestone for BYTE Robotics,” said Brian Meadows, Executive Director of CFI Robotics NFP. “For a first-year team to place at a regional competition is an incredible achievement. We are so proud of their hard work and how they represented the mission of CFI.”

Congratulations to BYTE Robotics on a fantastic season and a strong showing at Southworks 2025. We’re excited to see how far they go in the years to come!
