Taking Innovation to the Next Level at the 2025 Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics
On Saturday, April 12th, the Center for Future Innovators is proud to send our VEX V5 team, BYTE Robotics, to compete at the 2025 Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics, a premier event showcasing youth innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Throughout the 2024–2025 season, BYTE Robotics has steadily grown into a confident and capable team. After a strong regular season filled with learning and iteration, they’ve earned the opportunity to take their skills to a regional stage, where they will face off against top student teams from across Illinois.
The Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics challenges participants to think critically, adapt quickly, and work as a cohesive unit. These are skills BYTE Robotics has been refining all year. From early CAD designs and mechanical testing to programming autonomous routines and driving under pressure, the team has invested countless hours into perfecting their robot.
“This is a major milestone for BYTE Robotics,” said Brian Meadows, Executive Director of CFI Robotics NFP. “Their creativity, perseverance, and collaboration reflect what we strive to foster at CFI. It’s great to watch students grow into young engineers and leaders.”
As competition day approaches, the excitement is building. BYTE Robotics will proudly represent CFI Robotics NFP and the broader mission of the Center for Future Innovators: to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of STEM leaders.
We couldn’t be prouder of the journey BYTE Robotics has taken this season. Stay tuned for updates and photos from the 2025 Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics.
