CFI students compete at a high school level, earn top placements, and are featured in the news after a strong showing across multiple events at the Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics
CFI Robotics students delivered an incredible performance at the Southworks Engineering and Robotics Olympics, competing across multiple events and representing CFI at a high level throughout the day.
A Strong Showing Across the Board
We are proud of all 12 CFI teams that competed. From start to finish, it was a full day of innovation, teamwork, and energy as students designed, built, tested, and competed.

Competing Above Their Level
This is typically a high school-level robotics competition, and CFI brought in upper elementary, middle school, and high school students to compete at that level.
That is a big step, and our students rose to the challenge.
They competed across multiple events, including:
Sumo Survivor
Pathfinder
Sphero Chariot
Sphero Maze Runner
Throughout the day, students demonstrated strong engineering thinking, persistence, and teamwork while competing alongside older students.
More Than a Competition
The event reflected something bigger than just results. It was a day filled with innovation, creativity, and collaboration across schools and communities.
A special moment included kickoff support from Toni Preckwinkle, helping launch the competition with energy and excitement.
This competition continues to be a space where students build skills, test ideas, and explore future opportunities in engineering and technology.
CFI Community
It was also great to have CFI Robotics's Naperville VEX team, Floppy Fish, join and compete, showing the strength of the broader CFI community.
Thank you to our coaches:
