TerraBytes earn invitational bid while Crazy Fast Impalas complete their first State season
A State Championship Weekend Worth Remembering
This weekend, both of our FIRST LEGO League teams stepped onto the Illinois State Championship floor. Every run reflected months of redesigns, practice sessions, and team decisions made together.
State is not just another tournament. It is where preparation meets other teams who have done the same work. The results matter, but what matters more is who the students became through the process.
Team 62345 – TerraBytes
TerraBytes competed with the calm focus they have shown all season.
They tied for 1st place in Table Score, earned 3rd place Robot Design, and 2nd place Robot Performance. These awards recognize both performance and the careful engineering behind it.
They were also invited to compete at a National or World level Invitational competition, with details to be announced soon.
For a team built on consistency, this weekend reflected their identity. Clear roles, steady communication, and trust in their preparation allowed them to execute when it mattered.
Team 66000 – Crazy Fast Impalas
The Crazy Fast Impalas attended the State Championships for the first time.
This rookie heavy team spent the season learning how to function as a team under pressure.
They finished 9th in Table Score.
More important than placement, they showed that they belonged on this stage. Over the season they developed communication, confidence, and the ability to recover from mistakes together.
The Bigger Result
These two teams represent different points in the same journey. One is learning how to be excellent together. The other is learning what teamwork requires to reach that level.
We are proud of their results, and even more proud of the effort and growth behind them.
Congratulations to our students, coaches, and families for an outstanding season. We look forward to sharing more soon as TerraBytes prepares for their international level invitational competition.

Thank you to our FLL sponsors ADG, 3500 Morgan Investment Group, Littelfuse!
