Dual Language STEAM Night (Spanish & English)

Now Featuring Spanish & English Dual Language Night!

At the Center for Future Innovators (CFI Robotics NFP), we believe that STEAM education should be inclusive, engaging, and culturally responsive. That’s why we’re excited to continue our Dual Language STEAM Night series—this time featuring Spanish and English! This monthly event brings together hands-on STEAM learning and bilingual exploration, creating a joyful space for young learners to build, create, and celebrate culture.

Why Dual Language Night?

For many children in bilingual or multilingual homes, switching between languages can be confusing—and empowering. Dual Language Night is designed to help kids connect their curiosity for science and technology with their family’s language and culture.

Honoring Identity Through Language

By blending robotics and engineering with both Spanish and English instruction, students gain a deeper connection to their cultural identity—building pride and vocabulary in both languages.

Boosting Bilingual Brains

Studies show bilingual children excel in problem-solving, creative thinking, and multitasking—all essential skills in STEM.

Creating Community

Families learn together in a welcoming environment that values language, heritage, and hands-on discovery.

What Will Students Do?

This month’s theme is SPEED, and students will explore how motion and sensors work through the LEGO WeDo Racecar project.

Children will:

• Complete a STEAM-themed activity sheet (bilingual)

• Build a LEGO WeDo Racecar

• Learn how to code using a light sensor to start and stop the car

• Test and tweak their robot’s performance

• Discuss what they learned—all in both Spanish and English!

This engaging workshop helps students hear, speak, and apply key terms like rápido (fast), sensor de luz (light sensor), and código (code) in both languages.

Who Can Attend?

• Ages: 5-8 years old

• Capacity: Limited to 10 students

• Parent Requirement: A parent or guardian must attend with each child

• No Language Requirement: Everyone is welcome—whether you speak only English, only Spanish, or both!
