Earth Day 2025: Celebrating Growth and Community Impact at CFI Robotics NFP

At CFI Robotics NFP, Earth Day is more than a day. It is a celebration of community, learning, and action. Every year, we proudly partner with the City of Blue Island and the Blue Island Forestry Board to support environmental initiatives that make a lasting difference.

This year, we are excited to share two major milestones with our community:

A New Community Garden in Blue Island

In partnership with the City of Blue Island and Council Oak Montessori School, we are launching a new community garden. This garden will serve as an outdoor learning space where students, families, and community members can come together to explore sustainability, healthy living, and environmental science.

Student Leadership in Arbor Day Celebrations

Our Project-Based Learning students are leading important parts of the city's Arbor Day activities:

• Addison, a second-year PBL student, wrote the official Arbor Day Proclamation for the City of Blue Island. Her proclamation will be read by the Mayor during the city's Arbor Day ceremony on May 2, 2025, highlighting the importance of tree planting and community care.

• Rongyi, another outstanding PBL student, is preparing a news release to detail the impact of recent large limb pruning projects across the city. Her work helps explain how these efforts are improving safety, boosting tree health, and strengthening Blue Island’s urban forest.

Our Commitment

Through Project-Based Learning, CFI Robotics NFP continues to empower young people to become leaders, innovators, and advocates for their communities and the environment. We are grateful to the City of Blue Island, the Blue Island Forestry Board, Council Oak Montessori School, and all our partners for making these efforts possible.
