CFI joins CNP’s Tinymighty Camp for an early introduction to FIRST LEGO League, giving students hands-on building, coding, and teamwork practice.
This summer, the Center for Future Innovators (CFI) partnered with CNP to help bring robotics, coding, and teamwork to life at their Tinymighty Camp. This special program gave students a fun, hands-on introduction to FIRST LEGO League and other robotics activities, perfect for beginners wanting to try something new.
Led by Mr. Tim, campers used three different robotics kits to explore a wide range of skills. They started with WeDo 2.0, learning basic robot building and how motors and sensors work together. For many students, this was their first time seeing how simple code could control what they built.
The camp then shifted to Spike Prime, which is the kit students use for FIRST LEGO League. Campers learned how to build stronger, more complex robots and practiced coding routines to complete small challenges on an official FLL table. This gave everyone a chance to see how design, coding, and strategy come together in a real FLL-style project.
To mix things up, students also used the URC Gladiator kits for Robo Sumo battles. These matches gave kids a chance to design robots for head-to-head pushing contests, learning about strength, balance, and creative problem-solving.
Throughout the camp, students took on building sessions, coding challenges, obstacle runs, and friendly battles. More importantly, they practiced communication, teamwork, and perseverance.
We are grateful to CNP for inviting CFI to be part of Tinymighty Camp. We look forward to seeing our young builders continue to grow and use their new skills in future competitions and workshops. The summer learning adventure is just beginning.
