Illinois State Championship: URC Robo Sumo at the 2025 4-H Robotics Challenge

On May 3, 2025, the best young builders from across the state will face off in the Ultimate Robot Championship (URC) Robo Sumo Illinois State Championship, hosted at the 2025 Illinois 4-H Robotics Challenge.

This high-energy event features a walk-on, round-robin format where students bring their Gladiator robots into the ring and compete in fast-paced one-on-one matches. Each student will participate in multiple matches, with victories determining advancement to the final tournament bracket.

The top four competitors will receive awards and recognition for their outstanding performance, strategy, and robot design.

URC Robo Sumo is a signature program of the Center for Future Innovators (CFI Robotics NFP), combining hands-on engineering with friendly competition. Students build robots using the URC Gladiator kit and learn about mechanics, balance, and strategic driving in an environment that encourages teamwork and creative thinking.
