LEGO Robotics
Explore the fundamentals of robotics and engineering with LEGO WeDo 2.0! In this program, students will construct and program simple robots using LEGO bricks and software. Designed to spark curiosity and inspire creativity, this course introduces key concepts in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through engaging, hands-on activities.​
Program Overview
Welcome to the After-School Robotics Class at Chippewa Elementary School, brought to you by the Center for Future Innovators (CFI), a Chicagoland nonprofit dedicated to STEAM education.

Grades: 2nd and 3rd

Days Offered: Mondays or Thursdays

Session Length: 8 weeks

Time: 2:50 PM (end of school day) to 4:00 PM

Monday Session: Begins March 3rd

Thursday Session: Begins March 6th

Tuition: $200 total
Limited Spots & Lottery
-
Two Classes per Day: Each day (Monday or Thursday) will host two classes of 16 students each, for a total of 32 seats per day.

Lottery System: If more than 32 students sign up for a particular day, a lottery will determine who is selected.

Siblings: If two or more siblings apply for the same day, they will be entered into the lottery together (all selected or none selected).

Lottery Results: The final class roster will be announced on Monday, February 24th.
Schedule & Activities

Daily Schedule:
-
2:50 – 3:00 PM: Transition from class and introduction to the day's science/robotics topic.

3:00 – 3:50 PM: Robotics activities (building, coding, and teamwork)

3:50 – 4:00 PM: Cleanup & parent pick-up

Students will explore hands-on STEAM projects, developing foundational engineering, coding, and problem-solving skills under the guidance of CFI’s experienced instructors.
Pick-Up & Logistics

Location: Chippewa Elementary School (specific classroom info provided after lottery selection).

Pick-Up Time: 4:00 PM at the front doors.
